A free horror game for Windows

CNET is the world's leader in tech product reviews, news, prices, videos, forums, how-tos and more. Designed and written by Raymond Benson, the game was released for Microsoft Windows 3.x, Macintosh, Sega Saturn, and Sony PlayStation. As was the case with Dark Seed, console versions of Dark Seed II were released only in Japan, though they were additionally fully dubbed in Japanese.

The Joy of Creation: Reborn, also known as TJoC:R, is a rendition of the original The Joy of Creation game. Both games fall within the horror genre and leave players with an eerily feeling while they’re playing. Unlike the former, Reborn lets users play the game in free-form, which means they can freely move around from one room of the house to another. Your primary aim is to protect yourself from animatronics and survive the game at all costs.

What is the story of The Joy of Creation?

The Joy of Creation takes inspiration from the Five Nights at Freddy’s game and has been created by Nickson, a fan of the FNaF series. The original TJoC is a survival game where the main character is none other than Scott Cawthon, the creator of FNaF. It follows Scott as he tries to survive a night in a house haunted by animatronics.

After TJoC was released, Nickson informed its fans that there wouldn’t be a sequel to the game. However, four months later, he took fan votes into account and created Reborn, a game with a few subtle features, better than the original. Another game called The Joy of Creation: Story Mode brings the elements of both games together and follows Nick Cawthon, the son of Scott, as he visits the abandoned house after 10 years.

What is the gameplay of The Joy Of Creation: Reborn?

Once you complete The Joy of Creation: Reborn download, you’ll easily be able to install it on your Windows computer. As you begin playing, you will notice that the entire game is in the first person and that you have to search through an abandoned house that’s shrouded in darkness and creaks as you move around. Since you have a very limited view, every object that you come across will seem like a threat and leave a chill down your spine.

Furthermore, you’re not alone. The game features animatronics and various additional characters that are always out to get you. As you maneuver your way through the house, you will worry about getting attacked, a feeling that’ll keep you on your toes. The aim is to survive the game by hiding in a single location or by exploring and searching through the entire house for objects so you can level up. Either way, if you wish to go back into the world, you must continue to live.

What can you expect from the interface?

The Joy of Creation: Reborn features a full-screen window that is reserved for playing the game. All the settings and functions that you might need to access are available on an overlay menu that remains hidden on the top left side of the screen. This section also shows your gaming statistics, available lives, and the level you’re on.

How are the graphics and sound?

One of the main goals of The Joy of Creation: Reborn gameplay is to spook the players. You achieve this objective with the help of the game’s graphics, which are simply fantastic. When playing, you’ll feel like you’re watching an actual horror movie. It also enhances the entire gaming experience with customized music and creepy sounds.

Are there any system requirements?

Owing to the game’s high-end sound and graphics, The Joy of Creation: Reborn APK uses up a lot of system resources. It works on all versions of Windows, including Windows 7 and Windows XP. However, it requires that you have an Intel processor with a Quad-core or an equivalent AMD. It also needs 4GB RAM and a high-quality graphics card.

Is the Joy Of Creation: Reborn free?

Yes. The Joy of Creation: Reborn is free to download and play. While the game is better than its predecessor, it does take up a lot of system resources. In case you want to check out other horror game alternatives, you should explore Five Nights at Freddy’s, Slender: The Eight Pages, and Granny.

Game

Our take

If you’re looking for a horror game, this is the one! It’s not suitable for children and can leave even the most adventurous adults scared. Should you download it?

The Joy of Creation: Reborn features high-end graphics and sound that make it stand apart from other games in the genre. It takes inspiration from the FNaF game series and provides users with a fun and exciting experience throughout each level.
